Continuing Education

Have you ever wondered if your dentist is up to date on the latest techniques and information coming out of his or her field? Our understanding of the human body and our knowledge of medicine continues to evolve and grow at a rapid rate. In the 20th century innovations like fluoride, lasers, electric toothbrushes, 3D imaging, implants and whitening have all changed the way that dentistry is practiced. This advanced technology helps serve the Liberty, Snow Camp, and Ramseur areas of North Carolina!

Because of the rapid pace of advancement, the dental professionals you see twice a year are required to complete continuing education to maintain their license. Each state in the US has its own standards for licensure with varying amounts of hours needed to maintain compliance. North Carolina made these educational requirements mandatory in 1995; dentists must provide proof that they have completed 15 hours of coursework, while hygienists must complete six hours. Continuing education was available prior to that time, but was completed at the dentist’s discretion.

Over the course of 2022 Dr. Moses has completed 100+ hours of continuing education relating to implants, crowns, the use of a CEREC (in-house crown milling technology), TMJ, and clear aligners. Just this month he took his entire staff to training in Charlotte, NC where they had their own classes in CEREC, crown design, and customer service to ensure that his office can give patients the best care possible. Providing the best of modern dentistry is important to Liberty Dentistry and we continue to learn new skills and improve those we have because everyone deserves to reap the benefits of advances in dentistry. Next time you’re in for your regular cleaning, feel free to ask about the staff’s experience and what they learned! In fact, if you are anywhere in the North Carolina area, and have any dental questions at all – Our professional staff at Liberty Dentistry would love to talk to you!
